Cross Country Skiing in Whister

Whistler is best known for downhill skiing, but Cross-country skiing is one of Whistler’s best kept secrets. Many new world-class trails and facilities have been created in Callaghan Valley and the Whistler Olympic Park, which is located south of Whistler. It's also possible to walk from the village to a great network of cross-country ski trails at Lost Lake.

Lost Lake Park features 32 kms of trails and offers views of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains; four kilometers have lighting for enjoying evening runs. Lost Lake trails are groomed daily for skate and classic skiing, and have gentle slopes for beginners as well as challenging tracks for advanced skiers. The trail around the lake itself is lit for night skiing. Head to the Cross Country Connection for trail passes, rentals and lessons. It's easy to walk or drive to these trails; a free village shuttle can also drop skiers off near the trail network.

Whistler Olympic Park is where all the Nordic events took place during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Callaghan Country, right next to Whistler Olympic Park, has an overnight cross-country ski lodge but also offers day passes to their trails as well. Both parks honour each other’s passes and combined, have more than 95 kms of groomed trails to enjoy.
